Emily’s 2nd Birthday Photo Shoot

Hi sweet friends!!!  Long time no talk!  I’m still alive!!  Waahoooo!

I just got the pictures back from Emily’s 2nd birthday party and got SO EXCITED!  Lauren from Simply Inspired Mama was amazing enough to shoot Emily a few weeks before her birthday and also at her birthday party!

Since I just got the party pictures back today (and was beyond stoked), I immediately wanted to do a blog post showing them off!

But then I remembered I never did a post showing her country/woodsy/shabby chic photo shoot she did a few weeks before the party!  So let me back track a little and show you the AMAZING pictures Lauren took!

This one is by far my favorite!  I used it on Emily’s 2nd birthday party invitations!

Then Lauren gave her a lollipop to keep her “calm” and sitting!  And it was pink so it ended up being a super cute prop!

Then we switched from “birthday” mode to just fun/girly/2 year old mode!

And of course we had to try to get some family shots!

It was so much fun shooting with Lauren!  She is a blast!  If you’re local and looking for a great photographer….give her a shout!

Weekend Recap {Baby Shower Bliss}

Hi friends!  Happy Monday (is it even appropriate to say Happy Monday??)  I hope you all had a fabulous weekend!  I sure did!

On Sunday we had a baby shower for my girlfriend, Betsy.  She is having her 2nd baby boy!  I know people don’t usually do showers for the 2nd baby, especially if it’s the same sex.  But, Betsy had her first 4 years ago and she ended up giving everything away.  So she was in need of some new baby gear!

It was a small get together at a local bistro.  We had a great brunch and all you can drink mimosas!

Our friend Lindsey did a wonderful job of coordinating it all.

How cute is that cake!?!  Lindsey wears many hats and cake baking and decorating is just one of them.  She did an awesome job with this “belly” cake!

I made the diaper cake.  This was only the 2nd cake I’ve ever made and I love how it turned out!  For the center I used a glass vase and I stuffed it with a few goodies.  It’s a great way to hide presents inside the cake!  My good bloggy friend Karen has a great post up today about how to make a diaper cake!  Go check it out!

Here are some more pictures from the shower.

It was good times!  I just love baby showers.  It kinda makes me want another one!

And of course, Sunday night ended fabulously with the GIANTS winning the Super Bowl!!!  I had a happy hubby last night!

So what were you up to this weekend?  Did you work on any fun projects or cook a yummy new recipe?

Life As Of Late

So last week I took a couple days off from my cleaning and organizing madness.  I spent those days with my sweet baby girl.  So many days I get so caught up with cleaning, projects, organizing and making sure things are “just so” that I forget to stop and really treasure the time I have with sweet Emily.
So we took a few days last week to just chill and do fun stuff together.  One day we went to our very first “Mommy & Me” class!  It was so cute and I think Em had a lot of fun.

{These are all iPhone photos so sorry if the quality isn’t that great!}

We also went on a picnic!  Emily loves spending time with her B.B.F (baby best friend) down the street!  And I gotta say…..I really love spending time with her B.B.F’s mom!  It’s so nice to get together with other moms and have some adult interaction!

Emily didn’t even want to eat!  She just wanted to run and play!  And her B.B.F. quickly joined in!

And we went on lots and lots of walks!

Emily found a leaf!  She wasn’t sure what to think of it.  She saved it for later in her little storage compartment in the front of her car!  So cute.  Sometimes I just wish I could get inside that little brain of hers and see what she’s thinking!

We had such a great few days last week!

Thanks to my parents watching Emily, I was able to sneak out for a couple hours one night last week.  I went to a cake class called “Corks & Cakes”.  My neighbor is actually the instructor and she was the one who made Emily’s smash cake for her 1st birthday!  When she posted Em’s owl smash cake on her Facebook page, she had a huge response and people wanted that cake to be one of the classes!  So, she made last week’s class the “owl cake” theme!  I just had to do it!  Here’s how mine turned out:

Not too shabby!  And it was yummy too!  Next month we’re making a ruffle cake!  I can’t wait to learn how to do that!

So….that’s what has been going on with us ‘round here!  Well, that and of course I had to squeeze in a few projects and a little organizing.  I’ll share some of that with you later this week!

Thanks for stopping by, friends!  You kinda make my day!

If She Got Any Cuter….

….I don’t know what I’d do!  Seriously!  I had to stop the mad-woman cleaning for a minute to share with you some photos I snapped of my sweet baby girl tonight.  We were headed out to a local park where they were having “Elf Night”.

Happy Labor Day

Hey guys!  Boy, I tell ya….I sure do love long weekends!  Scott actually had Friday off as well so we had a 4 day weekend!  Score!

Friday we took a day trip to Destin to go shopping at the outlets!  It was fun.  I may or may not have spent $175 at the Carter’s outlet.  Whoops.  The whole store was 50% off!!  How could I not stock Emily up for Fall!?!

Saturday we just kind of relaxed and got some work done around the house.  And of course we watched some football!  Emily was ready to watch her Gators win!

And we came out with a victory!  Woohoo!  Although Emily didn’t quite make it to the end of the game.

Today we caught up on more housework (oh you know, touching up baseboards and such) and played with little Miss Em.

It was such a great and relaxing weekend.  I wish my husband had 4 day weekends more often!  The weather was pretty crabby most of the weekend so we didn’t get to go out and enjoy the sun.  Thankfully we live in Florida and there will be much more warm weather and sunshine for us to enjoy!

What did you do for your Labor Day weekend?

OH!  And before I forget…..don’t forget to pop over and enter the UPrinting giveawayRemember – you HAVE to leave a separate comment for each item you complete (like….one comment if you like me on FB, one comment if you follow UPrinting on Twitter).  This is the only way to do it fairly using Random.org.  Thanks guys!

A Few Firsts

I cannot believe my baby girl is going to be 10 months on Saturday.  I’m kind of starting to stress about her first birthday party.

Lame.  I know.

I know I need to slow down and really cherish these last couple of months before she turns one.  I get all emotional just thinking about  my sweet baby turning one.  UGH.

Obviously, Miss Emily has had many firsts.  The first time she discovered her hands, the first time she cooed, the first time she smiled at us, the first time she laughed, the first time she rolled over, the first time she crawled, the first time she pulled herself up on something.  The list could literally go on and on.  So many of those firsts I haven’t been able to “capture” because they have happened to quickly.  And I could really kick myself for not being better about keeping track of milestones.

But, these were a couple of firsts I was able to capture!

Scott & I decided to take Em to the park the other day (yes, in the 97 degree heat) to swing for the first time!

I think she liked it!  Smile

The next first was her first time taking a “big girl bath”.  Yup.  She has officially outgrown the sling thingy that we used in the tub.  I milked it for as long as I could.  So here’s my sweet girl splashing around in her first “big girl bath”.

That is one child who LOVES her bath!  She has always done really well during bath time and has loved it.

Aaahhhh…….

She even has a tooth!  Seriously.  What’s next?  A boyfriend?  UGH!

Ok, I’m off to pluck my gray hairs……

Thanks for stopping by and putting up with the 87483 pictures of my child!  God bless you.

Have a great weekend!
