Emily–9 Months

I seriously cannot believe I have a 9 month old.  She has almost been living in the outside world as long as she was living in my belly!  CRAZY!

I love this little girl more than there are words for.  She is a vibrant, energetic, stubborn, strong-willed, curious little girl.

She is into everything these days!  She’s crawling everywhere checking everything out and pulling up on everything!  She’s even starting to “scale” the furniture.

Scott went to Bush Gardens last week with his work.  He brought back Emily a cute surprise!

She loves her new giraffe!

New Developments: Wow!  Where do I start???  Emily, your days of rolling are long gone.  Now, you are crawling everywhere.  You have mastered the ability to go from crawling to sitting and vice versa.  Literally the second I put you down, you take off crawling.  You crawl so fast, sometimes it’s hard to catch up to you!  You still sleep on your tummy every night and that is your favorite way to sleep!  You are still sleeping through the night like a champ.  You nap well during the day also.  We are so lucky that we don’t have to rock you or anything else before you go to bed.  We literally walk in, put you in your crib, and walk out and you fall asleep on your own most of the time.  You are still eating your “solid” foods.  You eat sweet potatoes, peas, carrots, bananas, pears, apples, green beans, winter squash, brown rice, chicken, and turkey.  I really haven’t found anything yet that you don’t like.  You are drinking 1/2 water and 1/2 juice out of a sippee cup after you eat your solid foods.  You even recently had your first sip of cow’s milk the other day.  You really liked it!  You are talking more than ever!  You finally started saying “mama”.  I was so excited.  Daddy was a little jealous!  But soon thereafter you started saying “dada” and he felt better.  Now, you don’t say mama anymore and you say dada a lot!  The consonant sounds you say so far are: “b”, “d”, “m”, and “h”.  Your vowel sounds include “a”, “I”, and “e”.  You make all kinds of noises with your mouth.  You also giggle & laugh a lot.  Daddy can really make you laugh.  And the peek-a-boo game that Nana plays with you just cracks you up.  She loves it too.  You have started noticing the dogs more and they make you laugh when they walk around or scratch themselves.  You love to chase Fonzie around and torture him.  He nipped you on your cheek about a month ago and he got in big trouble because you had a mark.  Bad doggie!  It also cracks you up to go up and down the stairs now.  I have no idea why, but you laugh every time!  You are still playing with your toys more and more.  You can hold on to things well and also grab things.  You have moved on to size 3 diapers and are wearing mostly size 6-9 month clothes.  You are growing so fast.  You are still a pretty cranky baby.  You don’t let mommy put you in the pack ‘n play while I get things done or cook dinner.  Nope.  You must be out on the floor crawling around or right next to mommy.  We are going to work on that.  Mommy’s going to have to let you cry it out more.  Sorry, kid!  The doctor said your bottom gums felt kind of swollen at your 9 month check up.  I’ll be kind of glad when your teeth come in.  I think you’ll be so cute with little teeth poking out!  Mommy is starting to really plan your first birthday party.  I have been buying stuff for it for the past few months.  Crazy, I know.  But, I hope you look back on pictures of your very first birthday party one day and smile.  I pray that we remember and cherish this time forever!  You’re the best and we love you so, so, so much!!

xoxo,

Amy

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a comment. I read each and every one of them and work hard to respond to all of them that I can.
