Emily–11 Months {Better Late Than Never}

So…..I’m a little late on this.  Shocker!!  Miss Emily turned 11 months old on October 3, 2011.  I just can’t believe we are about to celebrate her first birthday.  Where did this year go???  If you would’ve told me nine months ago that we’d make it to her first birthday, I would have called you a liar!!  The first three months seemed to last FOR-EV-ER!!  But we made it!  And these last couple of months have been a blast!

11 Month Stats:
Height:  Not sure.  We will find out at your 12 month check up!
Weight: Not sure.  We will find out at your 12 month check up!
Head Circumference: Not sure.  We will find out at your 12 month check up!
New Developments: Wow!  Where do I start???  Emily, you are still a lean, mean, crawling machine!  You are all over the place, exploring new things.  You crawl so fast, sometimes it’s hard to catch up to you!  You pull up on just about everything and have mastered the art of walking with your toys (like your little push car your Aunt Vicki got you).  You also love to push the chairs from the breakfast nook table all over the kitchen and foyer!  Hopefully, you’ll be standing and walking on your own soon!  You still sleep on your tummy every night and that is your favorite way to sleep!  You are still sleeping through the night like a champ.  You nap well during the day also.  We are so lucky that we don’t have to rock you or anything else before you go to bed.  We literally walk in, put you in your crib, and walk out and you fall asleep on your own most of the time.  You are still eating your “solid” foods.  Mommy is trying to make your food a little bit “chunkier” so you can get used to various textures.  You eat sweet potatoes, peas, carrots, bananas, pears, apples, green beans, winter squash, brown rice, chicken, broccoli, zucchini, various mixed veggies, and turkey.  I really haven’t found anything yet that you don’t like.  You are also eating puffs like a champ, as well as these cheddar cheese flavored snack sticks.  You pick them up and put them straight in your mouth just like a big girl!  You are drinking 1/2 water and 1/2 juice out of a sippee cup after you eat your solid foods.  You are talking more than ever!  You love to make a lot of noise and point.  I love that you are trying to show us your world.  You wave and tell people bye all the time.  You’ve been saying “bye” for a while now but I think it is too funny that you wave now too.  You also tell people “hi” and “hey” and wave to them.  You still giggle & laugh a lot.  You know that the phone is supposed to go up to your ear.  You take different objects and put them up to your ear and say hey.  It’s so cute!  You have also learned how to open the dog cage.  Whenever we get home from running an errand, I usually say “Go let the dogs out” and you crawl right over to their cage and open it for them then sit there and giggle.  You love to chase Fonzie around and torture him.  You are still wearing size 3 diapers and are wearing mostly 12 month clothes.  You are growing so fast.  You have 2 bottom teeth and they are so cute.  Daddy used to make fun of mommy when she started brushing your little teeth.  He’s so silly!  We gotta keep those chompers pearly white!  Mommy is working hard on your first birthday party.  I hope you look back on pictures of your very first birthday party one day and smile and realize how much you are loved.  I pray that we remember and cherish this time forever!  You’re the best and we love you so, so, so much!!

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a comment. I read each and every one of them and work hard to respond to all of them that I can.
