Weekend Recap {Baby Shower Bliss}

Hi friends!  Happy Monday (is it even appropriate to say Happy Monday??)  I hope you all had a fabulous weekend!  I sure did!

On Sunday we had a baby shower for my girlfriend, Betsy.  She is having her 2nd baby boy!  I know people don’t usually do showers for the 2nd baby, especially if it’s the same sex.  But, Betsy had her first 4 years ago and she ended up giving everything away.  So she was in need of some new baby gear!

It was a small get together at a local bistro.  We had a great brunch and all you can drink mimosas!

Our friend Lindsey did a wonderful job of coordinating it all.

How cute is that cake!?!  Lindsey wears many hats and cake baking and decorating is just one of them.  She did an awesome job with this “belly” cake!

I made the diaper cake.  This was only the 2nd cake I’ve ever made and I love how it turned out!  For the center I used a glass vase and I stuffed it with a few goodies.  It’s a great way to hide presents inside the cake!  My good bloggy friend Karen has a great post up today about how to make a diaper cake!  Go check it out!

Here are some more pictures from the shower.

It was good times!  I just love baby showers.  It kinda makes me want another one!

And of course, Sunday night ended fabulously with the GIANTS winning the Super Bowl!!!  I had a happy hubby last night!

So what were you up to this weekend?  Did you work on any fun projects or cook a yummy new recipe?

  1. Love your blog...you have such great ideas! The baby shower looked gorgeous. Can you tell me more about what the glass vase with the green and blue balls are that have the "Thank you" sticks?

    Also, I'm planning a baby shower for March. Did you play any games at your shower? If so, which ones? Thanks!

    1. The vase was filled with gumballs (so fun!!) and some baby confetti. Then, as favors, blue swirled lollipops were stuck in the vase. The lollipops had "thank you" stickers on them. Hope this helps!

  2. Love your blog!! It has motivated me to get to work (Pinterest ad a little something to do with it as well). I used spray paint this weekend on a project and I am in love. Why didn't I use it sooner?!?! I want to spray paint everything now, thanks for the great tip. And you little girl is a doll.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a comment. I read each and every one of them and work hard to respond to all of them that I can.
