Weekend Recap {Baby Shower Bliss}

Hi friends!  Happy Monday (is it even appropriate to say Happy Monday??)  I hope you all had a fabulous weekend!  I sure did!

On Sunday we had a baby shower for my girlfriend, Betsy.  She is having her 2nd baby boy!  I know people don’t usually do showers for the 2nd baby, especially if it’s the same sex.  But, Betsy had her first 4 years ago and she ended up giving everything away.  So she was in need of some new baby gear!

It was a small get together at a local bistro.  We had a great brunch and all you can drink mimosas!

Our friend Lindsey did a wonderful job of coordinating it all.

How cute is that cake!?!  Lindsey wears many hats and cake baking and decorating is just one of them.  She did an awesome job with this “belly” cake!

I made the diaper cake.  This was only the 2nd cake I’ve ever made and I love how it turned out!  For the center I used a glass vase and I stuffed it with a few goodies.  It’s a great way to hide presents inside the cake!  My good bloggy friend Karen has a great post up today about how to make a diaper cake!  Go check it out!

Here are some more pictures from the shower.

It was good times!  I just love baby showers.  It kinda makes me want another one!

And of course, Sunday night ended fabulously with the GIANTS winning the Super Bowl!!!  I had a happy hubby last night!

So what were you up to this weekend?  Did you work on any fun projects or cook a yummy new recipe?

More Football Crafts {I told you I love football season}!

Betsy, a good girlfriend of mine from high school lives just a few houses down from me.  You may remember when I first got my sewing machine for Mother’s Day this year, I whipped up a few pillows.  Betsy immediately commissioned me to make some spring pillows for her front porch.  I’ve made her a couple sets of pillows so far and she has loved them!

Now that it is football season and I have been busy crafting my Gator stuff, Betsy has asked me to make her a few FSU things.  I’m telling you, it’s hard being a Gator in Seminole country!  But I don’t mind.  She knew she wanted an FSU rag wreath and some FSU pillows.  A couple trips to JoAnn’s later and here’s what I whipped up…..

IMG_6257

This wreath is so super cute!  I have made a few fabric rag wreaths for various holidays, but our other girlfriend in the neighborhood made an FSU one like this so Bets knew that’s what she wanted!  I used one of the 3-tier wire wreath forms from Hobby Lobby.  I only tied the fabric strips on the first and last ring.  Make sense?  It’s really full and really didn’t take too long to make.

Now for my favorite!  The pillows!  I am in love with how these turned out, despite the colors!  Winking smile

I. Love. Them!  I followed this tutorial and they were so super easy!!

So that’s it!  I’m off to make some Fall pillows for my front porch!

Do you have a favorite football team?  Have you made any crafts to show your team spirit?  I’d love for you to share!!

Have a great day!

NKOTBSB {The Aftermath}

So I am back from my whirlwind trip to Orlando, FL to see New Kids On The Block & The Backstreet Boys.

I’ll just start by saying my voice is finally back to normal.  It started coming back around Tuesday and I finally didn’t sound like a man anymore.

It was ah-mazing!  I swear I feel like I’m 12 again and that I shouldn’t be acting this way because I am almost 30.  Almost thirty year olds don’t act this way, right?  Whatever.

I literally almost don’t even have words for this trip.  All I can say is the concert was amazing, the after party was even better, the hotel was so-so, and the company was the best!

Now……the pictures!

Dinner @ Urban Flats was soooo good.  And CHEAP!  We all ate and drank cocktails for under $20 each!

Seriously??  Ugh!  I don’t even have words.

D-Dub’s after party was amazing.  We were so close!

Boyz II Men goin’ on……

So you’re probably wondering why Boyz II Men was there.  They ended up doing a surprise appearance at the concert and they did a few of the classics (End of the Road, I’ll Make Love To You, Motownphilly).  It was such a blast.

But, now I’m back to reality.  My voice is back.  And I’m ready for my next concert!

But until then, I’ll leave you with Jordan’s new video for his new song featuring Donnie Wahlberg!!

Aaahhhh……*love*
Ok, I’m done now.
Have a fabulous day!!!!
xoxo,
Amy

NKOTBSB

So, if you follow me on Twitter or on my Facebook page you probably have realized by now that I have a slight obsession.

With New Kids On The Block

Like, it’s borderline disgusting how obsessed I am.

I’m not the crazy obsessed type that posts on NKOTB message boards and has a NKOTB tattoo or anything.

It all started when I was 6.  I went to my first concert and it was NKOTB.  My cousin and I sat in the nosebleed section crying like little girls because we couldn’t believe we were actually there seeing our 5 favorite boys of all time.  My obsession didn’t stop at just going to a concert.  Oh no.

I had the lunchbox and thermos, a few different nightgowns, the enormous buttons to put on my jean jacket {don’t act like you didn’t have a jean jacket that you drew on with puff paint}, the dolls, the tapes, the videos, I recorded them on VHS every time they were on TV (in fact, my mom just found a VHS where we recorded them on the Oprah show), I had a big toy chest that had NKOTB on it, I had the sheets and sleeping bags.  I mean…..it was ridiculous.  And I still have a lot of that stuff!

Fast forward 20 years.  They made a comeback!!!

Grown men!!

I don’t think I have ever been so excited about anything in my whole life (ok, maybe my wedding day and the birth of my child.  Maybe  Winking smile).

November of 2008 a few girlfriends and I went to Ft. Lauderdale to see the new New Kids On The Block in concert.  Of course I already had every song on their new album memorized!!  My girlfriend worked at a t-shirt printing company at the time and had shirts made for all of us.

Yes, the back of my shirt says “Future Mrs. Wahlberg!  Or Waller if we can’t get back stage!”  Classic!  Obviously we didn’t make it back stage because my last name is Waller now.

*Love*

Give it to me D-Dub!!

Seriously.  Epic.

I’m sure most of you are saying in your heads, “Geez lady, grow up!  You have a husband, a kid, and have yet to lose your baby weight.  Get over it!”

But I refuse!  Nope.  I’m in for the long haul.

In fact, I’m doing it all over again TOMORROW NIGHT!!!!  Yessssss!!

I am taking a baby-free, hubby-free trip to Orlando with my girlfriend Amber to partake in this epic-ness again!  This time with the Backstreet Boys (another one of my “tween” years favs)!!!

Seriously, words cannot describe how excited I am.  F’real!

We are meeting up with friends before the show for dinner and drinks.  I might have dribbled in my pants a time or two I’m just soooooo excited!!!

Ok, enough about that.  I will be back next week with a full report and pictures from this glorious occasion!

Until then……keep “hangin’ tough”!  {Hahahaha…..I had to!  I couldn’t resist!}

xoxo,

Amy

Super Bowl

So we had a huge party at the house for the Super Bowl.  And wouldn’t you know, I didn’t take one single picture.  I was crazy busy allllll day long.  I made about 5 appetizers and 5 desserts, cleaned the house like a mad woman, and took care of the baby all right by myself.  Scott had friends in town and played golf.  I was a little stressed on Sunday, needless to say.  The party started at 6:00 and of course at about 5:55, Emily decided she was hungry.  Argh!  So before I had to run upstairs to feed her, I did snap a couple shots of some of the food.

{I made the cupcake stand and all of the food had those cute cards that I whipped up in Photoshop.}

IMG_4902

{Believe it or not, this was the very first time I had ever made cupcakes.  I truly don’t think I’ve ever made a cupcake in my entire life.  Weird.}

All in all, it was a great time with great friends.  But, I think I’ll only do it again next year if I can either hire a babysitter or a maid before the big day.
