Emily’s Minnie Mouse 2nd Birthday Party

Hey guys!

Do not adjust your computer screens!

Yes I did just post twice in two days!!!!  Holy bananas!!!!!

Well ya’ll know I just couldn’t wait to share with you my sweet baby girl’s 2nd birthday party!!!!

I had so much fun planning this party!  Although I have to admit, I was pretty stressed out about the whole thing.  That whole “full time job” thing will really put a damper in your party planning ventures!

Anyway, when Em voted for a Minnie Mouse party over pink ruffles & roses, my heart nearly shattered into a million pieces.  I mean…..Minnie Mouse is cute and all, but I’m not a huge fan of character parties.

So what’s a girl to do?  Well, I started planning a non-character character party!  And here’s how it turned out.  Are you ready for picture overload!?!?

Good!

Like I mentioned in my last post, Lauren from Simply Inspired Mama is amazing and she took all of the gorgeous pictures!

I started by creating an invitation that would set the tone for the party.  Still TONS of pink, polka dots, and a little Minnie here & there!

Despite being a little under the weather and having a fever the night before her party, Emily had a BLAST!

And Heaven forbid…..I touched her cupcake!

What a little diva!  It literally was just a little itty bitty scoop of frosting!

All in all we had a blast and it was worth all the stressing!

And might I add…..my house still hasn’t recovered from the party!  I better get it together before Thanksgiving so I can bring in all the Christmas stuff!!!

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you enjoyed my baby girl’s birthday party!

Emily’s Birthday Party {Sneak Peek}!!

Hey guys!

I have been soooooo busy lately with Emily’s first birthday party preparations.  I swear, this party is giving my wedding a run for it’s money as far as the planning & execution is concerned!  Lordy!  I have been a little swamped because I am making just about everything myself.  I guess I could’ve just ordered everything on Etsy, but I was trying to save money and who doesn’t love a good DIY project (or 50)??

I can’t believe my little girl turns ONE on Thursday!  That’s insane!!  She is such a blessing to Scott and I.  Just when we thought we couldn’t love anymore, she comes along!  We had no idea we could have so much love for someone inside!

Anyway…..her party is on Sunday!  About 50 of our closest friends and family and their chirrins’ are set to come celebrate with us!  I don’t want to give too many details.  I have hired a photographer to come capture the day (and so I wouldn’t have to be walking around with a camera strapped around my neck all day wondering if I took good pictures or not)!  When the party is over, I plan to do a series here on the blog about all the details of the party and tutorials for each of the projects I completed for the party!  So be sure to check back!

But, without giving too much away, I wanted to give you a sneak peek of some of the party details.  The theme of the party is polka dots & owls and the main colors are pink & turquoise!

Oh man!  I am so excited!  I can’t wait to share with you all the details of my baby girl’s special day!

So, with all that being said, I won’t be around much this week.  Grandparents are coming in town on Wednesday and friends from Miami are coming in Friday.  Which means I have to get the glitter off the floors, the cobwebs out of the corners, and the dog hair off the couch before their arrival!

I’ll see ya next week!  Have a wonderful & blessed week, friends!

Super Bowl

So we had a huge party at the house for the Super Bowl.  And wouldn’t you know, I didn’t take one single picture.  I was crazy busy allllll day long.  I made about 5 appetizers and 5 desserts, cleaned the house like a mad woman, and took care of the baby all right by myself.  Scott had friends in town and played golf.  I was a little stressed on Sunday, needless to say.  The party started at 6:00 and of course at about 5:55, Emily decided she was hungry.  Argh!  So before I had to run upstairs to feed her, I did snap a couple shots of some of the food.

{I made the cupcake stand and all of the food had those cute cards that I whipped up in Photoshop.}

{Believe it or not, this was the very first time I had ever made cupcakes.  I truly don’t think I’ve ever made a cupcake in my entire life.  Weird.}

All in all, it was a great time with great friends.  But, I think I’ll only do it again next year if I can either hire a babysitter or a maid before the big day.

Super Bowl party... {and some printables}

So we're just a couple weeks away from the Super Bowl!  I'm getting excited!  I kind of wanted the Jets and the Bears to make it, but alas I'm stuck with the Steelers and Packers.  That's alright because it's still a reason to have a party!   We are having our 2nd Annual Super Bowl party and I'm really excited about it this year.  I feel like I actually have a little bit of {nap} time to plan this party.

A couple weeks ago I found and printed this cute winter subway art and put it in an 8x10 frame at the end of my bar.  I want to replace it for the Super Bowl party but haven't been able to find any football subway art that's already been created.  So, I decided to take a stab at my very first subway art!  These are the very first ones I've created and I totally just winged it {I really had no clue what I was doing}.  And they definitely don't look as nice as some of the others I've seen.  Hopefully I'll be able to practice some more and get good at it, because I do think it's a neat thing to switch out and personalize your home with.

So, without further adieu, here are some printable football subway prints!  I made one plain one, one for the Steelers, and one for the Packers!  Enjoy!

Next up, I'm going to take stab at making cupcake toppers!
